Spielberg building ‘Blox’ with new partners at EA - The Hollywood Reporter
Family game due in spring for Wii
Steven Spielberg and leading game publisher Electronic Arts have announced the first title in their partnership, “Boom Blox,” which will be coming to the Nintendo Wii in the spring.
The family-friendly game features more than 300 levels, dozens of characters and puzzles and is designed to exploit the Wii’s highly interactive, physical gameplay.
“I am a gamer myself, and I really wanted to create a video game that I could play with my kids,” Spielberg said in announcing the title and its May release date. “My inspiration for this game came while I was playing the Wii for the first time. ‘Boom Blox’ plays on the enjoyment of building and knocking down blocks, something that can appeal innately to kids and adults of all ages.”
