On the occasion of its 50th Anniversary in 2017, AFI is broadening the spectrum of those served by its educational programs. As part of the Youth & Family Program at AFI FEST 2017 presented by Audi, AFI successfully launched an expanded K-12 education initiative to foster filmmaking talent among the youth of Los Angeles: the AFI FEST Storytelling Bootcamp.
Each year, AFI recognizes the year’s most culturally and artistically significant films and television programs with AFI AWARDS. An almanac documenting works of excellence that defined the storytelling landscape of the past year, AFI AWARDS is the only national honor for the entertainment community’s creative teams as a whole — recognizing the collaborative nature of the art form.
On November 16th, AFI Conservatory Artistic Director James L. Brooks hosted the entire class of current second-year Screenwriting Fellows, and their Discipline Head Anna Thomas, for a unique opportunity on the Fox lot.
