The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced that 10 live action short films will advance in the voting process for the 82nd Academy Awards®. Seventy-one pictures had originally qualified in the category. On the list is the film SHORT TERM 12 produced by AFI Directing Workshop For Women alumna Michelle Steffes (2006).

The short film also screened at AFI FEST and won the Grand Jury Prize, Shorts, at Sundance 2009.
