Multiple alumni of the AFI Conservatory received Golden Globe nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Monday morning.
Among the film categories, THE POST co-screenwriter Liz Hannah (AFI Class of 2009) received Best Screenplay — Motion Picture screenplay nomination. Hannah was recently featured on The Hollywood Reporter cover, alongside Steven Spielberg, Meryl Streep and Amy Pascal, for her work on the acclaimed film.
Among the TV categories, FARGO producer Erik Holmberg (AFI TV Workshop, Class of 1988) received a Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made For Television nomination.
FEUD: BETTE AND JOAN producer/writer Michael Zam (AFI Class of 1985) also received a Best Television Limited Series or Motion Picture Made For Television nomination.
The Golden Globes announcement adds to a recent wave of success for AFI Conservatory alumni, including: 30 alumni featured among this year’s AFI AWARDS; seven WGA Award nominations; 11 Critics’ Choice Awards nominations; the New York Film Critics Circle Award for MUDBOUND’s Rachel Morrison (AFI Class of 2006); 32 alumni featured among National Board of Review honorees in categories including Best Film of the Year (THE POST) and the Spotlight Award for WONDER WOMAN director Patty Jenkins (AFI Class of 2000); a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination; and more. Jenkins was also recently shortlisted for TIME Person of the Year.
