Thriller

I insist everyone I know watch this movie. Great story, great acting — Edward Norton has become a favourite of mine now. The movie is gripping from second one and finishes with an “oh my god” ending. If you haven’t watched it, please do.

This is just a very imaginative movie, with great action, action-packed, and simply not a dull moment.

David Cronenburg is a brilliant director. This is most likely the most interesting experimental narrative film of all time. James Woods and Debbie Harry deliver some pretty serious characters. It tackled the idea of television consumption before anything else really ever did. Cronenburg needs to be recognized!

One of my earliest memories is traveling with my parents and my older sister and staying in a hotel over in eastern Washington. That night, we were watching H.B.O (a rare treat for me at the time,) and the film BATMAN was on. I never looked at clowns the same way.
Since everyone knows the story behind Batman, I’ll skip right to the review part. I’ll also add that I know very little about the comics, having only read a few of them. That being said, Michael Keaton plays Batman/Bruce Wayne with just the right balance of anger, obsession and intelligence. He’s a guy with a strong desire to do good, but greatly fears the idea of becoming the type of person he hunts. That brings us to the villain of the piece, the yin to Batman’s yang, the day to his night and the root of my intense distrust for clowns and their kind, The Joker. In the hands of the great Jack Nicholson, the Joker is like a hybrid of Robin Williams and Charles Manson. Again, I know slim to zilch about the comics, but I believe Jack was the perfect choice for such a role, one that makes his character in THE SHINING look calm and well-adjusted. The supporting cast ranges from pretty darn cool (Robert Wuhl and Jack Palance) to just plain uninteresting (Kim Basinger.)

Silence was the best movie I have ever seen! When I first saw it, it was on TV on a rainy night at midnight. I remember seeing Clarice walking to Hannibal’s cell and how he knew she was there and was just…waiting for her. I started to consider hannibal the smartest person to the world at the age of 14. I thoguht the relationship between them was romantic in a weird freaky kinda way. i loved picturing them together and when he kissed her in the sequel (even though Clarice didn’t kiss back, though i’ll bet she wanted to) i posetively MELTED!!! :)

Chuck Palahniuk’s Masterpiece, made into one of the best movies ever made by David Fincher. Total Film ranked it #1 and AFI fails to recognize it as one of the best.

Easily one of the greatest of the Film Noir genre and the best performance of Joseph Cotten’s career. Orson Wells also had a sensational performance. The directing and writing was brilliant and some of the best lighting ever. This should definitely be considered.

As I was saying, my favourite movie is seven. Why you may ask.. Well, Seven has it all.. A great story, the greatest actors and a magnificent ending. I can watch this movie every day, I really love it. This movie has it ALL!

I think that A Clockwork Orange is the most picturesque movie I’ve ever seen. It gives off so much energy, adrenaline and glamour. Is obsessing, thrilling, brainwashing, convincing, bizzare, harsh and you can’t compare it with any other movie from this category. It totally different. Above all, all the technical elements are very well combined: the music, the costumes, the montage, the image, the backgrounds…
Malcolm McDowell plays terrific… I really can’t understand why he wasn’t nominated for Oscars… He definetly deserved that.
About Kubrick… he is a master! He proved again what art means…

I’ll definetly go for it. Is the most fulminant piece of cinema I’ve ever seen. Is full of energy and originality. Also, it perfectly combines different faces of art. You can see it 30 times and not get bored at all… Is a lot to talk about ACO. The point is that it made history.

Kubrick’s movie is a real masterpiece!

First of all is very original and is brilliantly done: the image, the costumes, the MUSIC, the montage… all the technical elements are incredible.
The actor Malcolm McDowell is charming. He plays with so much passion, he fits so great on the character, that he makes you being
fascinated by Alex De Large… He can become obsessing…
The action is so vivid, energic, powerfull that makes your blood run faster trough your veins. It gives you a lot of adrenaline just looking at it…
Is amusing, thrilling, brainwashing, obsessing, counterculture, artistic, dynamic, political. It has all the elements for being the finest piece of cinema ever made…
Also, A Clockwork Orange imposed new fashions and influenced a lot of generations of teenagers…
What can I say more… This movie is a real recipe of art.

Highly controversial when originally released in 1971, A Clockwork Orange is most definitely Film genius Stanley Kubrick’s greatest work. The film shadows around a great plot which is this: A young teenaged gang member (droog) in futuristic Britain goes about at night raping, beating mugging, etc. with his other uniformed friends until he is turned in for the accidental killing of a woman. In jail he hears about a special treatment that can get anyone out of prison fast. Her tries it out and it turns out that the treatment is where Alex (the main character), must sit strapped into a chair and be forced to watch explicit films focusing on extreme sex and violence.

One of the best murder thrillers ever produced
Superb acting by Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman who play 2 homicide detectives and Gwyneth Paltrow plays Pitt’s soon to be pregnant wife.
Kevin Spacey is quite astounding as the psychopath killer who picks out 7 victims and cruelly tortures them to death for what Spacey believes are the sins committed as depicted in the medieval writer Chaucer’s “7 Deadly Sins”
A quite nerve jingling ending featuring an unsuspecting courier driver who has to deliver a package to a very remote location on the instruction of Spacey who nonchalantly has walked into the police precint and turned himself in
But what is in that package ?
This film has to be seen to believed …..a 10 out of 10 all round

A Clockwork Orange has been overlooked many times in the past. This movie, directed by a film genius, is one of only a few that have made my perspective on movies change. The storyline had me sitting through this with a huge smile on my face. The music, charcters, and language really kept me in awe. If a 24hr marathon was on of just this movie, I would watch it without a moments thought. It is the best movie that has ever been made.

Spine chilling murder suspense starring Brad Pitt,Morgan Freedman,Gwynneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey who superbly plays the psyhcopath who just happens to be quite articulate and has hand picked 7 victims for his gruesome torture based on the 7 deadly sins as described by the author Chaucer
The ending has to be one of the best in movie history
An unsuspecting courier delivers a package at a specified time and location by Spacey who has surrendered himself to the homicide detectives Pitt and Freedman
What happens next is truly amazing …….Intense would be an understatement

Spine chilling murder suspense starring Brad Pitt,Morgan Freedman,Gwynneth Paltrow and Kevin Spacey as the seriously deranged but articulate psyhcopath who leads two detectives on a murder hunt and chooses his victims based on the 7 deadly sins as described by Chaucer
One of the best endings in movie history feauturing a mysterious package delivered at a specified time by an unsuspecting courier
The ending has to be seen to be believed

If you are a fan of Kubrick, from Dr. Strangelove, 2001, Clockwork, and The Shining, then you are familiar with his film making technique. Clockwork Orange is one movie I have seen too many times to remember, and I never tire of this classic. Who else but Malcolm McDowell could have played the role of Alex? The movie just has a feel to it that says to me, watch me over and over again, you may have missed something the first or second time.

I think a clockwork orange is the greatest movie I never seen before. It is timeless for everyone except the actor’s hair reveals the year of the movie secret.

No one is able to deny the timeless effects of a clockwork orange. Many people see it and doubt that it is made in 1971. Only this reason - I choose a clockwork orange is my favourite movie.

How could anyone come up with one favorite movie. I more than the above to go a top of the heap list. I love movies for many reasons. The Pianist is a emotionally powerful work with one of the great acting performances of all time.

American Beauty is funny, hypnotic, lyrical, beautifully photagraphed, great writing, acting………. Great Story telling. Hip.

Godfather I & II all of the above and insightful.

Bulworth: I movie I never tire of watching. It is hillarious……..

Thunder Road….. Robert Mitchum

The Hustler……. Again great cinematography, acting.
Solyaris: But if I had to pick my greatest movie it would probably be Solyaris. A beautiful film that is the most affective film I’ve seen that paints a picture of transcendence and creation.

Just one comment about a movie lot’s of people love and I send to the bottom of my list. Namely 12 Angry Men. Thought this movie was God awful. It does not put you in the room in the sense that you could make a decision on the fate of the person being judged. The evidence used to walk you to this jury’s conclusion was non-existent.

Well directed. Great punch at the end. Kevin Spacey was perfect in it. The movie delivers such a creepy vibe every time I watch it i feel I need a shower.

It changed the way I look at films. Seen more times then I can count and will never tire of it. Nothing like it has ever and probably will never be made again. Stanley Kubrick was a director who’s work stands alone and this is his masterpiece

Redford was great, he made it seem like you were there.

In my opinion, Clockwork Orange represents the epitome of intelligent film making. Here’s a movie that pushes the envelope further and more furiously than any other; a film that has absolutely no regard for trivial Hollywood standards and obligatory nonsenses; a film that is so unique and so artistic that it makes a Kandinsky painting look coherent. However, it’s a beautiful film for the same reason that the Kandinsky is beautiful, and it really can be considered nothing short of a cinematic masterpiece. From the acting to the script, from the musical score to the cinematography, from the directing to the set design, Clockwork Orange is very nearly flawless in every conceivable facet, and it watches better than a good book reads or a great symphony hears. Clockwork Orange is not only my favourite movie, but I do sincerely believe that it is the best movie yet made.

It has everything. A dull husband, a cheating wife, the insurance policy and the insurance agent that she turns into her accomplice. It’s fantastic.

I just love Fred McMurray, and Barbara Stanwyck is fantastic. BUT Edward G Robinson so good as the boss at the agency. LOVE IT.

A combination of elements that culminate in an example of the realization of all that the medium of film can be.

This movie has everything: interesting costumes, beautifully shot, music that fuses the old (Beethoven) with the new (synthesizers), a script that does the same (the language of Shakespeare, combined with invented slang), ideas of philosophy (to what lengths should man go to eliminated evil from society), sex, violence, action, drama. It provokes thought, repels, and intruiges. The script is enthralling, the performances are riveting. The film is an example of everything that movies can be.

TAXI DRIVER

Robert De Niro gives the greatest performance of ALL time.

Robert De Niro gives the greatest performance of ALL time. Starring next to the greatest supporting actress performance of all time by the 12 year old Jodie Foster. The direction is beyond perfection, and the entire cast shines including Harvey Keitel. The only movie ever to have such an effect on me. It really nailed the subjects of alienation, lonliness, and psychological problems to the screen. The movie includes the greatest scene and quote of all time: “You talking to me?” scene, and it also includes the greatest shootout scene of all time. Just like the main character of the movie, I felt disgusted by the streets at night. In fact I felt so disgusted after watching this masterpiece to the point that I took a one hour shower. Truely as powerful as a movie gets, thanks to the greatest screenplay of all time by Paul Shrader.

When one thinks about the end of the human race, one usually associates it with global warming or nuclear war. Not pigeons, bluebirds or canaries. That is, I think, the reason that Alfred Hitchcock’s film “The Birds” works so well; it takes something that many people consider harmless and turns it into something terrifying. Tippi Hedren, Robert Taylor, Jessica Tandy and Veronica Cartwright, each fitting comfortably into their roles, are trapped in a house in the small town of Bodega Bay, CA. as all hell breaks loose around them. Along with “Psycho” and “Jaws,” it’s one of the few films that really gave me the creeps.

It had me on the edge of my seet.

It had me on the edge of my seet. I don’t remember why because I watch it a long time ago and it was the first movie I seen.

I just recently rented and hope to purchase this movie soon enough. I found it to be so brilliantly made and intriguing. It gained quite a bit of controversy when it was first released and I can see why, but still the movie is regarded as a classic.

It is meaningful to me, because of its twisted, but brilliant plot line and intense direction by one of the greatest, Stanley Kubrick.

Unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Unlike anything I’ve ever seen… Everything about it is unique. Every single scene is a film-making lesson.
