THE TEN COMMMANDMENTS

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS IS THE ULTIMATE BIBLICAL RIGHT BESIDE BEN-HUR.IT IS SHOWN ALMOST YEARLY AROUND EASTER,WON A OSCAR FOR SPECIAL EFFECTS.IT WAS FOUR, NOW FIFTH ON THE ALL TIME BOX OFFICE ADJUSTED FOR INFLATION.AT THE TIME IT WAS PROUDLY ANNOUNCING IT HAS THE GREATEST MOVIE SCENE .IT IS GOOD FOR EITHER JEWS OR CHRISTAINS.iT WAS THE LAST AND GREATEST FILM BY C.B.,AN MOVIE ICON.ELMER’S SCORE IS REALLY DRAMATIC.iT IS PART OF THE GOLDEN AGE OF HOLLYWOOD.tHE SAST IS VERY MEMORABLE INCLUDING CLINT WALKER,HERB ALPHERT,MIKE CONNERS ,AND i BELIEVE ROBERT VAUGHN.ETC…

I am a big fan of Ben Hur and i seen many epics including Lawrence of Arabia, Gone with the Wind, Titanic, Lord of the Rings, Dr Zhivago and The Godfather and i didnt believe that any of these Great epics were bigger and more grand than Ben Hur but then i saw the Ten Commandments the other day and i was Blown away. I saw a movie as equally large and grand as Ben hur. The scope, the grandure of the movie was very impressive and even more impressive for the time that it was made. One thing that i did not expect was that it was a very good love story as well. I truely felt sory for moses and nefratiri cause they really did love eachother and unfortunately went down different paths. Just as powerful as Ben Hur as well with the religious aspect of it with the parting of the red sea and moses throwing the tablets of the ten commandments onto the people who did not follow gods law. Im very suprised that this movie did not win Best picture of 1956 considering what it was going up against. and very suprised that it was not chosen to be part of the 100 greatest films. A very impressive piece of work gone un celebrated

The Ten Commandments is the most egregious omission on this new list The cast of actors is stellar, the story is truly epic and the movie influenced future directors to think on a grand scale.

I was shocked and appalled that in ten years; “The Ten Commandments” never made the AFI 100 lists.

This is a true American movie classic. How many movies are only broadcasted once a year? The only one, which comes to mind is, “It’s a Wonderful Life” and that’s because the networks beat the heck out of it.

Myself and my family and friends wait ever Easter to sit back and enjoy, “Where’s your Messiah now Moses? I love that line!

This is our all time favorite biblical movie. We have it all, Cecil B. DeMille narrating and also the director. (On of Hollywood’s best and most famous directors.) The great parting of the Red Sea, the elaborate sets and costumes, and my favorite, Charleston Heston and Yul Brynner with no shirts!

All kidding aside I can not stress enough that this is an American classic and deserves to be in the same categories as “Ben Hur” and “Titanic”

Why not bump “Toy Story”, or “Lawrence of Arabia” and movie in “The Ten Commandments” were it deserves to be! A top 100 American Film!!!!

It’s based on a true story. I’ve been fascinated by it since I was a small child and first saw it one Easter. I’m 42 now and thirty something years later it’s still exciting to watch. The special effects for that time were great.

it´s difficult to choose only one movie . How can i forget marvellous movies directed by John Ford, King Vidor, Cecil B. de Mille, Alfred Hitchock, Raoul Walsh, Howard Hawks , Fritz Lang ..and many others ?
The Alamo, directed by John Wayne in 1960, The Ten commandments , De Mille , 1956, El Cid, Anthony Mann, 1961 must be in any best movie list .

BEST BIBLICAL EPIC EVER. NEVER GET BORED WATCING IT OVER AND OVER. GREAT ACTORS, COSTUMES AND SETS.

THIS IS ONE THE GREATEST MOVIES OF IT’S TIME. THE STORY OF MOSES
PLAYED BY CHARLTON HESTON. IT HAS BEEN SHOWN ON TV EVERY YEAR
RIGHT AROUND EASTER ITS A TRADITION! THIS MOVIE SHOULD OF BEEN
IN THE TOP 100! AND IT IS DEFINETLY ONE MY FAVORITE MOVIES!!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE BEST MOVIE EVER. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I WATCHED THE SHOW THAT IS WASN’T THERE. I ALSO LOVE THE PRINCE OF TIDES, AMAZING. I WAS GLAD TO SEE BEN HUR BUT WHERE WAS THE TEN COMMANDMENTS

IT’S A TRUE STORY AND THE SPECIAL EFFECTS WERE GREAT FOR THAT TIME.

By far, this is my favorite movie ever! I love the story, the stars, the special effects! It has it all. With a cast like Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner, Anne Baxter, Edward G. Robinson, Yvonne DeCarlo, Debra Paget, John Derek, Cedric Harwicke, Nina Foch, Martha Scott, Judith Anderson, Vincent Price, John Carradine, Eduard Franz, Olive Deering, and Henry Wilcoxen this movie moves on star presence. It gets my vote. It will always give me chills!

I was shocked that you forgot about this fantastic movie! There were a lot of crumby movies listed. I know people’s tastes are different, but NO
Ten Commandments-COME ON! I read the list over and over wondering what happened to taste! My favorite is AN AFFAIR TO REMEMBER, which really should have been a lot higher on the list. It’s the Most romantic movie EVER! Now the Top 100 Movies Show comes on again and all of us will be shocked again that you forgot THE TEN COMMANDMENTS–ENJOY THAT MOVIE YEARLY. CHARLTON HESTON WAS AND IS MAGNIFICENT, ALWAYS!!!…We love you, Chuck–Be Well!

It is not my favorite movie, but did the voters forget about this film or what? It should be in the top 10 and its not even in the top 100.

It is unbelievable when you realize that this film was made in 1956. It is so vibrant and spectacular in the grandest fashion it is the pinnacle of dramatic epics. This film beget Ben-Hur and The Lord of The Rings. AFI owes The Ten Commandments a little respect.
