What is your favorite movie?

I’m such a HUGE Martin Scorsese fan. Probably one of his biggest fans ever! Ive seen practically all of his movies that he has ever made. Even when he started out back in the 60’s, ive seen those movies. Ive seen pretty much every movie that Scorsese and De Niro have made together. And every movie Scorsese and DiCaprio have made together, and i’m only 18 and seen all of these films.

I think his best films are:

1. The Departed
2. Gangs of New York
3. GoodFellas
4. Casino
5. Raging Bull
6. Mean Streets
7. Taxi Driver
8. The Aviator
9. Cape Fear

I love his way of directing and the way he can tell a story through film. He has never let me down yet with his movies.

Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, and Leonardo DiCaprio make this movie great because they all have to play double lives. For instance Nicholson, who plays Frank Costello, an Irish mob boss in Boston, has to also be an FBI informant. Matt Damon, who plays Colin Sullivan, has to be a cop and Costello’s informant at the same time. DiCaprio’s character, Billy Costigan, grew up in a life of crime, and worked for Costello, but in secret he is a real undercover cop. Costigan and Sullivan are also sleeping with the same woman, which makes the subplots so intriguing.

This is my favorite movie because the cast is excellent and everyone’s peformance is top notch. Also, the dialouge is great and the direcyion is excellent. This is Scorsese’s best film since Goodfellas.

There is all around great directing and acting in this film. They all work very well together.

Wow this movie is something. This is a kind of movie where you don’t want to take your eyes off the screen. When I was watching this with my girlfriend she would keep talking and I didn’t hear a single word. I couldn’t take my eyes off of the television. I had to eventually tell her in more gentle words to shut her pie hole. This movie kept me on the edge of my seat and made me want even more. At the end, when it was all said and done, my mouth sat wide open. I was so surprised that I didn’t talk to my girlfriend for atleast 5 more minutes. This movie about brought tears to my eyes. It is incredible. Nice job Mr. Scorcese!

At the 79th Annual Academy Awards,the Best Picture award was truly given to the Best Picture.This picture has everything a film needs;great directing by Martin Scorsese,great acting by Leonardo DiCaprio,Matt Damon,Jake Nicholson,Mark Wahlberg,and has great action.This is clrealy my favorite movie.It also shows us Martin Scorsese’s brilliant filmaking.Which is why he won the award for Best Director.Why he didn’t win best director for GoodFellas,Gangs of New York,or Raging Bull?I have no idea.But he should have won for every oscar nominated movie he ever made.

Is my favorite movie of all time. I am in love with it.

Some will say it’s a biased vote because it’s so recent, but no movie I have ever seen has held my interest from beginning to end like The Departed.

Martin Scorsese’s best. His first movie with a plot, as he says. It moves super fast, maybe a little too fast, but at a speed unlike a movie I haven’t seen before. He embraces today’s technology, with the major feature of cell phones. And of course, he still has the best choices of soundtrack.

It’s a masterpiece of the human brain. Only Martin Scorsese could make it the masterpiece it is.

It told me that this is what I really want to do for the rest of my life. Direct movies that will bring up a great conversation

I would have said Return of the King…

I would have said Return of the King, but the acting in The Departed is so incredible it really makes the movie. Leonardo DiCaprio is absolutely amazing as is Mark Wahlberg. Alec Baldwin adds an extra bit of comedy that really helps. And Jack Nicholson is at his best with what I feel is his second best performance behind As Good As It Gets. And Matt Damon plays a pretty good slimebag.

Every thing about this movei is so amazing. The Directing, acting, story, and the fact that you can’t peel your eyes from the screen for one second. I know i couldn’t.

I have always thought that the “cop and robber” genre was typically the same. There was a protagonist, and and antogonist. The cop was the good guy, and the robber was the bad guy. But in this movie it takes that basic story and flips it. The good guy is Billy Costigan, a cop from the wrong side of the tracks that goes undercover into the top gang in Boston to infiltrate Frank Costello.The bad guy is Colin Sullivan is a detective who is a mole for Costello. Sullivan and Costigan are trying to find out who each other are and the whole thing plays out into an instant classic long the lines of The Godfather. The way that Martin Scorsese directs it makes things that are emotional and makes them upbeat and surprising. You can never see things coming. This movie changes things in the gangster way of film making and turns them into a new “bang bang” way of film making. I love it.

Maybe it’s too early to call this movie a classic, for it isn’t even out on dvd yet, but I believe this movie is going to be huge. Once it comes out on dvd and everyone sees it, it will become an instant classic. It’s the best film Scorsese has released in ten years and it’s the best hollywood film to be released since Fight Club and American beauty. It’s pure high adrenaline entertainment filled with great lines and great character development. This movie will be on the topic of conversation for many years to come.

Bill Costigan is thrown into the Irish Mafia as an informant for the Boston Poilce Department; while Colin Sullivian is a rat working for the Irish Mafia, but is inside the police department.

Martin Scorsese is the greatest director of all time. I have seen close to all of his movies and this by far his greatest acheivement in directing. One day I hope to aspire be a director just like Martin.
