PULP FICTION

Pulp Fiction is the most genius film in its plot, screenwriting, directing, and presentation. The simplicity of the sets, and the dialogue is mirrored by simple minded characters with complex stories doing things that would not be considered simple by an average mans viewpoint, be it getting raped, trying to revive an OD’ing girl in your living room, running away from mobsters, performing a hit, or robbing a diner. Also the script is pure genius, especially with Sam Jacksons character, fusing the vulgar and the obscene with his angelic ideals makes a compelling story and entertaining conversation when pinned against the simpleton of Vic Vega who doesn’t care about anything that doesn’t directly affect his life, or that which doesn’t compromise him. The directing is also fabulous with the simple sets adding to the visual appeal, and the affect of time on the story, having Vic Vega die and then seeing him again before going to meet Marcellus for the closing scene. When watching for the first time this may be a daunting film to comprehend, but when watched numerous times is an act of cinematic genius and unparralleled storytelling.

If you seen it, then you know why. About 20 big time stars all have a part, the classic Tarrantine mixed timeline, the colors, the music (Oh yes, what a killer soundtrack!), the diagolugue,…..

This might be my favorite of all. I say might because it is SO hard with SO many great films and performances and writing that it’s almost impossible to pick one as THE best, but still, if I had to, I would likely say Pulp Fiction because I just never get tired of watching it. SO creative, SO well written, particularly the dialogue, and the acting was incredible. In a sea of terrific performances, Samuel L. Jackson shines the brightest. I agree with one of the other commentors here that even the periphial performers are great, like Buscemi as the waiter playing Buddy Holly in Jack Rabbit Slims, Keitel as Mr Wolf, Paul the Bartender, and Ving Rhames as Marcellus Wallace is absolutely outstanding. Travolta does a tremendous job here as well. Save for Jackson though, my favorite performance in the film comes from Christopher Walken as Capt. Koonz. His speech is hilarious, bizarre and fantastic.

I could watch this film on a continuous loop and remain forever entertained. I guess that makes it my favorite. . . . .

best screenplay ever

PULP FICTION is a timeless classic for a few reasons. It is probably Tarentino’s best film and there really isn’t a movie quite like this. Though it has intense drug use and extream voilence, it still shows you what an indi film can do. I too am an indi film maker and I find it very difficult to even try to make a film this great. Another reason why this is a great, not even great, FANSASTIC film deserves to at least be on the first page of the top 100 is that this film brought back John Travolta’s careir. his acting careir, well, wasn’t very good untill he was in PULP FICTION. I have seen many gangster films and this one is more than that. It’s intense, sad, funny, and it shows you the differant types of people in the world.

In my opinion, Pulp Fiction is the best film ever made because it is the movie that ended with the biggest impact on me. It had more of an impact on me than 2001: A Space Odyssey, Raging Bull, and even Citizen Kane. It feels more important and no other film has flowed so well as it has. Even though Pulp Fiction’s characters are low life thugs, junkies, and killers; the film’s theme is redemption and every major character redeem themselves except the main character, Vincent Vega played by John Travolta. Not only is this the most important and inspirational film to me, but it has the greatest use of dialogue, acting, and cinemattography, and is why it is the best film of all time.

Pulp Fiction was so innovative, with maybe the most suspenseful scene (Mia overdoses) of all time. It has a great soundtrack and many quotable lines. Everyone in it is the epitome of cool.

Scenes, Dialogue, Images, Everything.

I often can’t remember what movie I saw 2 weeks ago. This is simply the most memorable movie I ever saw, and that make it the best for me.

I have no idea… It is just the one film i really don’t get tried of, it is the way Tarantino combine the different stories into to a complete film, where they all cross over each other… Kind of like the way Kevin Smith does, but he does it over a period of 5-6 film…
But there it is, my favorite, Pulp Fiction… What is yours?

A masterpiece..may be the single best film ever made, and quite appropriately it is by one of the most creative directors of all time. This movie is amazing from the beginning definition of pulp to the end credits and boasts one of the best casts ever assembled. It resurrected the career of John Travolta and highlighted the acting talent of Samuel L. Jackson. Why is so great “Pulp Fiction”? lots of irony and the characters - they are human beings like we are, talking about Burger King and McDonalds, about TV series and foot massages..they just earn their money with killing others or selling drugs…

Why is PULP FICTION my favorite movie? Quite simply because it has some of my favorite actors in it and I love the storyline. I also love the soundtrack - the music is great. The movie has classic, memorable quotes from it and you can have a conversation with someone based on nothing but PULP FICTION quotes (or at least I can). :-)
I’m disappointed that it ranked 94th but am glad it moved up from 95th. I’m not saying it should be in the top 10 but it should definately be higher up than 94.

When this came out, I had never seen anything quite like this. I loved everything about it. It really started my fascination with films.

Movies will never be the same again, after Tarantino made pop culture a character in his movie….

The look of the film creates a world of its own. The acting is superb, with even minor characters like the Esmerelda Villalobos, Paul the bartender, Lance the drug dealer, Zed and Maynard… they shine. The script and Tarantino bringing the best out of every actor, that is the key to this one. He’s a visionary, and knows film inside and out. He knows and remembers all the great scenes of film history, and brings them together in films like this, Dogs, Jackie Brown, etc… who can create such a great underworld of characters? No one better than Quentin. I’d go on, but I don’t want to bore you all. It is a masterpiece, and a shame it’s not in the top 20 on the AFI list, let alone the top 10, or top 5 for that matter.

Now, this isn’t my favorite movie of all time, but it is definitely high up on the list. And I’m rather confused that it’s not that high up on the AFI list.

First, this movie is extremely well done. Tarantino’s dialogue is sharp as a razor, each story pays attention to the most finite detail and builds to a tremendous climax, and each character has their own, distinct personality. On top of all that, the film contains wonderful performances from every actor, quite possibly one of the best soundtracks in cinematic history, and Tarantino’s direction brings out every detail of the script. He is the ultimate post modern director, melding together art film with mainstream cinema.

Second, this film broke down all the doors for independent filmmaking. Before Pulp Fiction, the norm for a successful film was to spend a crapload of money on it and make it as simple as possible. This was established by Jaws back in ‘75, which is a great film, but did start a rather bad trend in filmmaking. Now, over ten years later, the norm for filmmaking is to start independently, and that is because of Pulp Fiction. We’ve seen many great independent films, and countless ripoffs of both this movie and Reservoir Dogs.

So will somebody please tell me why this is all the way down at #94? I think it’s terrible to see movies such as “The General,” “Annie Hall,” and “Titanic” ahead of this groundbreaking, amazing film. Hopefully, another ten years from now, they’ll change their minds.

Just as captivating, original, funny and brilliant today as it was first time I saw it in 1994. As many great movies as I have seen in my life, and still have yet to see, it never fails that when I sit and watch Pulp Fiction again I have the realization that this is my favorite movie and always will be.

If you read the list of the cast in this movie you know its going to be great. Samuel L. Jackson, John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Bruce Willis, Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel, and of course Quentin Tarantino makes an appearance! Its a great movie! I think it could have gone without showing the rape scene but thats just my opinion. The person who I think made this movie as popular as it is other than Tarantino is Samuel L. Jackson. He puts alot of work into that character and by doing that made him one bad _________! (to fill in that line, think of what is on Jackson’s character’s wallet!)

Undoubtedly the greatest film of all time, bringing together hundreds of influences and styles and blending them together into a genre/style/class all its own. Quentin Tarantino at his very best. And Sam Jackson portrayed one of the greatest characters ever brought to life in the past few decades on the big screen in a way no one will forget or fail to remember, “…And they will know my name is the lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee.”

Yes the deep focus in Kane is important, but nobody can touch QT’s style of film making. There has never been a writer as good as him. Even if his movies are just a congolmoration of all of his favorites, he transforms them into perfection. By far the best! Maybe once more time has passed (or his life) will the critics finally understand how brillant he is!

good acting good dialogue great movie all around

Everything about it is awesome. The writing. The acting. The directing. The story. It’s perfect.

my favorite movies are pulp fiction, shawshank redemption and full metal jacket

Style, substance, brutality, laughs, inspired a generation of filmmakers, numerous copycat films, arrival of Tarantino

Basically, this film oozes cool. The definition of cool right here.

but To kill a mockingbird is also a great movie, but it didn’t do justice to the book, the great american novel in my eyes

With the sharp witty dialogue and wonderful acting it be almost impossible to hate this movie.

Quintain Tarantino’s best , Great dialog and thirll. This movie created the path for great movie like the Usual Suspects , Out of sight and Boogie Nights .

A movie that over ten years later is still as cool as it was in 1994

When I finished my first viewing of Pulp Fiction, I instantly rewinded (remember when we had to rewind) it and watched it again. I was in complete awe of the film. The subject matter walked as fine a line between lurid and spiritual as Jules did in the movie. Two characters with such a cool way about them have never been written since or before Vincent and Jules. They might as well been named “Ying” and “Yang.” We were also given Bruce Willis’ best performance in any film before or since. On top of all these gems, Pulp Fiction delivered some of the most memorable lines in film history, the dialouge has directly shaped me since seeing it.

We all know why Pulp Fiction is one of the best moves ever made…

We all know why Pulp Fiction is one of the best moves ever made, but for me, only a few movies makes you want to know more about a film, small details, non-importance material but you still want to make a full research of everythig about that production. And pulp Fiction does.

From beging to end this film has it all…

From beging to end this film has it all, suspence, drama, crime, love, action, horror, comedy ect. The acting was fantastic. And Quentin Tarantino has a way of writing that just draws you in. And the filming was great. It has every thing you you look for in a movie. And in my opinion there has yet to be a movie made yet that can out do it. A must see.

It’s a perfect film.

It’s a perfect film. No film that I’ve ever seen has completely embodied what makes cinema so great. Every scene is memorable, every scene contains at least one piece of quotable dialogue. It’s the best film ever made, bar none.
