The beauty of the spontaneous moments captures the idea of what we all want to believe love is. It is an outlandish romance which catches even those of us who are cynics of love by surprise as the characters fall in love with the real, flawed parts of each other. I can’t flip by it on tv without stopping, despite the hundreds of times I’ve already seen it. It’s a magnetic piece.

This is perhaps the best adult fairy tale available anytime. Whenever it is shown on TV, you can believe that I will be watching. With all of the present violence in most movies today, Pretty Woman makes you feel warm and wonderful and makes you wish you were the “Cinderella” that is portrayed in this extremely clever story. It makes you cry and laugh and want to believe that fairy tales can really come true. Kudos to all and especially to Julia Roberts.

After reading the five or six postings when I arrived on this page, I feel that this choice will certainly be mocked, at the very least. However, I still get excited every time I find this movie on TV, despite the fact that I own it and could watch it any time I like. I have been a hopeless romantic from the age of ten, and it is the quintissential romantic “prince on a white horse” movie for my generation. Take comfort in the fact that I have downloaded the list and will begin watching many more beloved love stories in the coming months and years.
