Platoon hit me harder than a speeding RPG.
Platoon hit me harder than a speeding RPG. For me, it had it all, from the primal struggle between good and evil, to the intense bravado used to elicit core emotions. However, the real triumph of the film is in its breaking down each of the characters into the parts we see in ourselves; while never leaving the overlaying background of Vietnam which is the inexplicable driving force of it all.
