ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST

Jack was brilliant. It gave you a lasting impression of what a mental hospital might be. Seeing other now famous actors in early roles such as Danny DiVito and Christppher Lloyd was great. Nurse Rachet was so hateable that you were actually rooting for Randall P. McMurphy to get the best of her. To see the how these men gained courage and dignity from an outside bad influence was amazing. One of the best Anti-Establishment films ever made. Whenever it comes on Tv I always get sucked into it. AFI should do a list of most sucked into movies of all time. One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest would be near the top…Mike Veliky

GREAT ACTING BY EVERY CAST MEMBER, HEARTWARMING STORY, UNPREDICTABLE STORY.

This movie was intense as it was funny. Atotal movie experience. I’ve seen it 25 plus times and never tire of it .

The best on-screen portrayal of a man not conforming to the ways of society and the system. He (Jack Nicholson) was the shepard trying to lead his new flock of sheep in a new direction, a place where the didn’t have to be “crazy” and they could just be normal for the first time. one of my favorite film heroes.

Flawless film with an unforgettable cast and one great scene after another. Arguably Jack Nicholson’s best performance….I realize this is not the GREATEST film ever made, but it certainly is MY FAVORITE film of alltime. For anyone who questions authority and tends to thumb his/her
nose at the establishment…this is the film for you.

One Flew over the Cuckoo’s nest should have been in this years top ten films along with Apocalypse Now. It is one of those films that you can watch over and over again, I have watched It over 50 times and I still laugh and cry everytime time, Great Acting, Great Dialogue, Great Direction, Great Film, “ahh Juicy Fruit”.

Although I think the 60’s can never fully be defined, but I think this film comes as close as any. Still a moving film that evokes numerous emotions. One of the many films with Jack at his best. All the performances were superb. And, a great narrative.

By far the funniest movie I have ever seen. Period.

It’s a masterpiece with great acting, dramatic story, and funny moments. I love the movie because it touches and moves me in so many ways. Along with Jack’s great performance, it deserved the 5 Oscars it received that night in 1976 for Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Director, and Screenplay.

ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST

Randal Patrick McMurphy (Nicholson) is sent to a mental institution to avoid the manual labour of prison. Whilst inside he rallies the patients and plays a number of “power” games against the oppressive head nurse Ratchet (Fletcher).

this movie is meaningful in that the patients involved are given a little hope and happiness which wouldn’t be a part of their lives if R.P Mcmurphy hadn’t arrived.

there are many themes to this amazing movie that we a individuals and as a global society can relate to - hope, happiness, sadness, death, etc

the perfomances are excellent and well worthy of the oscars they won

Nicholson is the star of the show, the “is he crazy or is he faking” question is intriguing, his facial expressions, quotes (which i find repeating in my every day life) and just his all round stature dominate.

however there is a great supporting cast, the evil, contorlling nurse ratchet, Mcmurphy’s two friends - billy and the chief and a young danny de vito turn in stirling perfomances in the simply fantastic and timeless classic

The directing, the performances, the script, everything.

unconventional filmaking from start to finish
Something about this movie always gets me. I always think Jack will make it out of the window at the end. It’s just great unconventional filmaking from start to finish.

Everytime I watch this film I learn something new.

Everytime I watch this film I learn something new. I remember being a kid and watching it with my dad. I didn’t really understand what was going on and watching it years later it made sense. Not only did it make sense but it was funny. Jack Nicholson is amazing as McMurphy and Louise Fletcher became a part of cinematic history as Nurse Fletcher. No disrespect to anyone but I’ve been calling people chief since I first saw the film.

A film for the ages.

The performances in this film are stunning and the story is both dramatic and hilarious all at once. A film for the ages. Plus, it has Jack Nicholson (one of the great American actors) at his very best.

It began with a love of Jack Nicholson and a love of great cinema.

This movie has the most beautiful ending in cinema. At first, the ending seems very depressing and sad, but once you know that McMurphy has been released and is running with the Chief, it all seems OK. The Chief and McMurphy probably kept on running and enjoying themselves, even though it was only McMurphy’s spirit with him.

The movie is beautifully acted and a great direction from Foreman. Nicholson is so intense and amazing, it’s unreal. The movie is so inspirational and so enlightening, it is a true masterpiece of cinema. Only a few movies can touch its greatest, and I am looking at Mr. Lean. But that’s beside the point, it is a great and real movie with one of the most indelible characters in cinema, RP McMurphy. See this movie. Now.
