LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

As the title suggests, there is no movie that I have seen that makes me feel more able to see my place in the world and know what I am about and what life is about. It is very funny and also very sad. It effectively turns from a silly romantic comedy to a tragic family story; that is so rare. Yet the main character’s love fro his little boy and his wife never strain, no matter what he must should on their behalf. I think that we should all be able to see the world through the eyes of Guido.

LIfe is Beautiful has everything a great movie should have. Seldom are there movies made that have more than one overall theme or mood. Life is Beautiful explores more than one genre. The most original movie I have ever seen, Life is Beautiful will make you laugh, cry, and laugh again. It is a true journey, with an ingenious script. It is a beautiful movie.

What an inspiration of LOVE. I applaud the director. I felt like I was there for the three of them. Mom, Dad, Baby boy. It camaflaged some of the pain but you could feel it, love, survival, innocence. It challenged me as a Mom.

The beginning is a beautiful comedy. The middle is horrifying and yet beautiful, as the dad helps his son survive the horrors of the concentraion camp. The ending is emotional as the father is murdered to help his son survive, and the son is finally reunited with his mom.
Not only did Roberto deserve the Best Actor award in 1998, but the little boy deserved a Best Supporting Actor nod. I always tear up when I hear the boy’s final words, “We won, Mom! We won!” Thank you, Roberto, for proving Life is Beautiful!

This film is a touching and untraditional look at the Holocaust.

This film is a touching and untraditional look at the Holocaust. It’s an example of the kind of film Hollywood just doesn’t have the guts or the gumption to produce.
