GROUNDHOG DAY is indeed a classic

It is a little too commercial to be considered top 100, but that is only because those lists look at a movie like this (and someone like Bill Murray) as riff-raff. MISTAKE! It replays so well. It has a lot of substance, which automatically gets overlooked once you are a comedy. There is a religious subtlety to the movie too. There is simply a lot going on so it makes you think about your life and about what is important. Slam dunk great one, and I really do not care if others miss it- their loss. A gem!

Every moment in this movie is pitch-perfect, when it would be so easy to go wrong. Bill Murray gives the performance of his life, hilarious, yet profoundly touching. No other movie has expressed so clearly the redeeming power of true love. For some reason, it’s always overlooked when it comes to awards and lists.

I hope to see Groundhog’s Day get in the top 100 some day!

There are a lot of great movies not on this list but I realy would like to see in ten years alot of those silent flms, Chaplain films, even some of those Groucho flicks and there are a couple more that seem a little bit too out dated, not only that but an overkill of speciic actors. I feel pick their best done film and give room to some of the newer classics. I’ll probably discredit everything I’ve written by stating Groundhog’s Day is a great movie in every single way and hope to see it break the top 100 some day!

Ground Hogs Day is about living life the best one can. The main character has to live the day he is trapped on, Ground Hogs Day, as best he can, to be able to go on to the next day. It is a very beautiful love story, as well as being very funny. What an interesting day to be living over and over again.
