This movie was one of my favorites long before I had children. The songs, yes, but the insights into each of the characters are so poignant. And guess what - I ended up raising 5 daughters. Who knew (from the movie Angels In the Outfield).

The songs are catchy - and endearing. Just the right blend of humor, drama and action. It epitomamized the changes from one generation to the next; and how historical events such as polgrams, war and ideology influenced one generation over another. Who can forget “If I were a rich man” or “Sunrise,Sunset”? One of few films which I can watch over and over - and never get tired of.

This is a great movie!! Everyone should definitely watch it. Wonderful singing and music; you’ll see why when you watch it

SULLIVANS TRAVELS? WHAT THE? ABOUT HALF OF AFI’S SELECTIONS SUCKED OR I NEVER HEARD OF. THE STORY OF AN OLD HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS (SOMEWHERE AROUND #16)? LOTS OF ELITISM HERE. WE NEED A PEOPLES’ CHOICE LIST. I DON’T EVEN LIKE MUSICALS AND I CHOOSE FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. THE MUSIC AND STORY IS SUPERB, ESPECIALLY THE FRUSTRATION THE FATHER IS PUT THROUGH WITH HIS DAUGHTERS SET IN A BACKDROP OF HISTORICAL UPHEAVAL.
CLUE: IF 10 OF 100 PEOPLE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT IT DOES NOT BELONG ON THE LIST. TOOTSIE, SOME LIKE IT HOT, AND CABARET. CROSS DRESSING AND WEIRD SEXUALITY ARE DISGUSTING.
