EDWARD SCISSORHANDS

This movie may seem odd to some people but there is so much more to it. I understand we absorbed the phrase “never judge a book by it’s cover” so much in stories growing up, but that is exactly what this movie is. I consider it the best as well. visually it was amazing with it’s expressionistic characters and settings. Tim Burton was genius when thinking of his main character. a man with scissors for hands who made beautiful things but when it came to touching people… he couldn’t. There is a lot of repetition with “I know a doctor who might be able to help you” and he never goes to a doctor. Then you realize that he doesn’t need help. the people in the town are the ones who need help adapting to this “change” which they never do except for the people who have embraced him. Edward Scissorhands is a great movie that anyone can enjoy from all ages.

i loved this movie. the chracters seem so real, even though some seem so far fetched( in a good way) it is johnny depps finest work and one of the greatest movie characters of all time. it is not a classic, but it is a really good film!

Where, oh where has all of Hollywoods creativity vanished to? Well, at least there’s Tim Burton and his fantastic ability to create quirky-but-loveable characters, not to mention beautiful imagery. With Edward Scissorhands, he takes the story of Beauty and the Beast and puts it in modern day Burbank. In a role that’s 90% physical/facial and only 10% verbal, Johnny Depp portrays Edward, a young boy with, well, scissor hands. Winona Ryder plays the young love interest, whose love/understanding of Edward doesn’t waiver, even when it turns out his disability can do harm as well as good.
