BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID

Best cast and direction for it’s time, not a fan of westerns but this one had it all
Picking a favortie movies is as hard as picking a favorite Beatles song, there are just TOO many.

Paul Newman and Robert Redford, onscreen together. It does not get much better than that!

Loved all the choices but after much thought, I’m switching from my long time favorite Dr. Strangelove to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It might be a sign of the times - I’m opting for pure entertainment with the most appealing and talented actors of our generation in their prime. Ability, looks, charm, intelligence - that spells Paul Newman and Robert Redford.

After 100 views (starting when I was an usher) it is still the best combination of entertainment and filmaking. Godfather is next on my list.

Butch and Sundance, without question is the greatest buddy film ever made. It’s cinematography, the great dialogue, the acting, the music, the black and white montage of their departure to Bolivia, the beauty of Katharine Ross and the emotional ending of our “heros”. Top it all off with Redford and Newman having the perfect chemisty. They even did it again 4 years later in The Sting. This film has it all. A film which I have watched over and over again and will keep watching.

Plain and simple two of the best actors of all time. It’s ashame that Redford and Newman only did two pictures.

All the elements of a great movie…Writing, acting, plot, soundtrack, and an ending that makes you wish the movie wouldn’t have ended.

BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID

Each time you watch it, you don’t want to stop.

The acting, the writing. The chemistry of the leads, the cinematography. The opening scene, and the incredible ending. You cannot say enough about how influential and how incredibly enjoyable this movie is. Each time you watch it, you don’t want to stop.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid has it all. If you haven’t seen this movie, do yourself a favor and rent it.
