Man tries to keep his son out of trouble with a mob boss in 1960’s Bronx, NY. Stars Robert De Niro, Chazz Palminteri and Lillo Brancato. (1993)

This may be the most underatted movie of all time. It’s never on any of those “Greatest Movies of all time” lists. It should be, though. This movie is chock full of life lessons, the greatest of which is probably what De Niro’s character tells his son: “The saddest thing in life is wasted talent.” It’s something my Dad always told me. The film touches on themes from the importance of family to racism. Its has an awesome storyline and plot and features some incredible acting with several intense and moving scenes. The movie has a near perfect soundtrack featuring 50’s doo-wop and 60’s rock&roll. All in all this film is a modern classic and deserves to be right up there with The Godfather and Goodfellas.
