This movie adaptation of Larry McMurtry’s novel, “Horseman, Pass By”, was much better than the novel. The screenplay by Irving Ravetch and Harriet Frank, Jr in which Hud was made the central character of the movie made the movie great. Hud was the cool, good looking bad boy with the most memorable lines. I am surprised that none of these great lines made your top 100 Movies Quotes list. How about these lines:
1. The only question I ever ask any woman is “What time is your husband coming home?” 2. You don’t look out for yourself, the only helping hand you’ll ever get is when they lower the box. 3. Happens to everybody. Nobody gets out of live alive.
