It was the first comedy that also welcomed in special effects. The marriage of the two still holds up today. In an age where special effects are almost comical themselves, due to an over reliance on computers, it’s nice to go back to the original Star Wars, ET, or a Back TO The Future. Let’s face it, actually blowing the model up looks a lot more real than computer generated objects, and Michael J. Fox is the perfect anti-hero almost every guy can identify with. I’m a little biased, because I grew up in the 80’s and graduated high school in 86, so watching this film is like going back in time for at least a couple hours, but it should definately be in the top 100 films.
