This isn’t at the very top of my favorite movie list but it is close. However, it does preside at the top of my funniest movies of all time list. The movie is timeless, and that is what truly makes a great movie. Many people will say that it was significant only during the cold-war but they would be wrong. It has such great, over-the-top performances as well as being chock full of dark wit and humor that it is compelling to all. Since it also steps into rare territory as a comedy that makes you think as much as laugh it remains relevent today. Sorry ‘2001′ fans but this one is every bit as good as your space odyssey. Brilliant in every way imaginable, this masterpiece isn’t satisfied being just one of Stanley Kubricks greatest(and just might be) it is one of the greatest of all time.
