Although some may see it as less than great cinema because of the stigma attached to its source material, I feel that Batman Begins ranks as one of the greatest literary adaptations ever committed to film, and a fantastic action-drama in its own right. The characterizations are all sharp and well-played, and there is a level of psychological complexity evident that is thought out more than one would expect from the genre. The relationships between characters are also vividly portrayed, granting the film an emotional resonance and a good deal of believability. We are made to care for our hero, and see him as a human being, not just an indestructible icon- but when he becomes the personification of his own deepest fear, Christopher Nolan plays to his powers of theatricality and misdirection, and he becomes an object of fear- even, to an extent, for the audience. Whileit may not be the work of art that rivals the likes of Kubrick, Fellini, and Speilberg, it is still a fantastically well-crafted movie, and is, by far, my favorite. find ourselves afraid of

it is a great movie, maybe the greatest movie about superheroes ever, but I wouldn’t consider it for the greatest movie of all time, despite being a huge Christian Bale fan. This film has gathered many of my favourite actors (Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman, Ken Watanabe) and I simply love it. But there are many movies better on more levels than this one.

THE BATMAN SAGA IS OVERPLAYED AND THE NEW MOVIE IS OK BUT DOESN’T BELONG ON ANY LIST OF GREAT MOVIES. IT MAY BE A GOOD LITERARY ‘COMIC’ ADAPTATION BUT NOT THE BEST AND I WOULDN’T CALL IT A LITERARY ADAPTATION - ITS A COMIC BOOK. AND YOU ARE RIGHT IT WOULD NEVER RIVAL THE WORKS OF SOMEONE LIKE KUBRICK.

I would say also that this film is one of the best literary adaptations of this time.
and yes I would use the word literary. There is so much depth to this character just as one would find similar depth in any one of the characters found in some of literary s most accomplished works. Just because it’s a comic book should not hinder the work. There are thousands of comic books (also called graphic novels) that have been recognized as true lit . This movie has found a nice nitch on my mantle of films and I am proud to say so
