I have seen many different epic films on TV, some with my dad. But most of these I see with him are boring that are historic and so full of deaths. However, since the Star Wars trilogy changed the era of sci-fi and special effects, I started to find some epic films worth watching, as long as they contain these parts. I have started to add that film as my 1st favourite trilogy, along with ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ which I started to love at 15 years old. However, when I was 16 and at the end of my GCSE exams, I started seeing a film I had heard about on the Internet and thought this would also be something worth watching.
It was ‘The Last of the Mohicans’ that replaced my two favourite films as 1st best and made them my 2nd favourite films. The reason why I love it as my favourite is because I found the action sequences to be thrilling and wishing that I’d be able to do it. Also, some of the romance within the film really moved me even though it wasn’t never-ending. The storyline I would say is pretty well adapted from the original novel and other adaptions. The music was so atmospheric, pacing and moody. I found Daniel Day-Lewis to play his leading part pretty well in this film as he had worked so hard to prepare for this charcter. I feel dissapointed that he didn’t get an Oscar nomination for it, which I felt he deserved.
When I begin to recommend to anyone to watch this film, the only people who doesn’t find this worthy are my family especially my mum, who thinks that the violence is pretty scary and gory. I have to convince many times that Lord of the Rings, which she loves has violence too. But in my opinion, this is one of those that make epic films worth watching. The action! The romance! The drama! Even the thrill! I shall never give this up as my favourite film.
