Yes, I am a 25-year-old male, and yes, I still love cartoons. Stupid, I know, but, hey, they make me laugh. My question is; why does everything have to be computer generated these days? ALADDIN was one of the last truly great Disney-made feature films, second only to LION King, of course. This is a great example of great artists at their prime. But it’s not the terrific animation or the surprisingly catchy songs that make this film what it is. Robin Williams, one of (if not, the) funniest man of our time, provides the voice of the all powerful genie. With Williams in perpetual comic overdrive, this genie can not only grant wishes, but also morph himself into the likes of Jack Nicholson, Rodney Dangerfield, William F. Buckley Jr., and other figures from modern day pop culture. This is proof that Robin Williams and animation were truly made for one another.

I love “Aladdin” as much as the next guy. I’m a 20 year old male who still loves cartoons. I don’t see why “computer-generated animated full length motion pictures” (long name, isn’t it?)should take over the cinema. What has been good so far? “Shrek” “The Emperorer’s New Groove” & “Toy Story”. (In my personal opinion they ruined these 3 movies anyway by making sequels)
Let’s go down the list BEFORE computer -generated movies:
What was good? “Aladdin” “The Lion King” “Beauty & The Beast” (to this day: the ONLY animated film to be nominated for an Oscar) “The Little Mermaid” (the last movie to be COMPLETLEY hand drawn) “Snow White & The 7 Dwarfs” “Cinderella” “Robin Hood” & “The Jungle Book” to name a few.
hand drawn beats computer generated movies: at least 8-3!
Robin Williams is halarious as usual & just like ALMOST ALWAYS, great soundtrack.

You left out The Incredibles. It’s not that I don’t like computer animation; I just feel that the classics, such as the ones you mentioned, have a bit more, shall we say, heart.

Okay, Mr. Blank Blank. I think that you were much to wrapped up in your hatred for the Disney Rennaisance to recognize that “Beauty and the Beast” was nominated for the COVETED OSCAR: BEST PICTURE and was also nominated for 5 others.
I believe that CGI is only good in moderation. For example: the beautiful Ballroom Sequence in Beauty and the Beast. I still believe that Beauty and the Beast is the greatest musical of all time (yes, I really did say that) if not one of the greatest movies of the 20th Century (and yes, I really did say that too). Doubtless it is the greatest Animated Feature ever made, with Snow White, The Little Mermaid, and The Lion King coming at 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.

With as much respect as I have for Disney films (Robin Hood, Beauty and the Beast, Lion King and Aladdin standing out as favorites from my childhood) I still maintain that the title of “greatest animated feature film” still belongs to Japan’s film Spirited Away. Great animation from Hayao Miyazaki, top-notch animation, and excellent characters. Also on my list would be Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride and another Jap-anime feature, Grave of the Fireflies.

WALT DISNEY’S ALADDIN, really does help define a generation of kids that grew up in the early 1990s. Movies with songs scores like that cannot be duplicated easily, they only come around once in a while.
