One of the tests of a movie is how you react on 2nd and 3rd viewing. Do you react as strongly as you did the first time you saw the movie? Saving Private Ryan stands up. The scene in which the soldier is frozen by fear listening to his friend being killed still makes me cringe. I find myself trying to urge him to join the fight, knowing that he will not.

Truly great filmmaking often leaves you with more questions than answers and this movie does that.
