As grand as the Searcher’s is, my favorite John Ford-John Wayne film remains The Quiet Man. Wayne and Maureen O’Hara’s kiss when he sweeps her off her feet is the best smooch in film history and the fight between Wayne and Victor McLaglen is one of the most entertaining brawls committed to film.
