Maybe the Cold War has been over too long for some to appreciate this cultural achievement, but just think: HOW could anyone address the prospect of nuclear annihilation EXCEPT as the blackest of black comedies?
. . . my number two is “Chinatown” (go Spike!) and my number three is “Lawrence of Arabia” (thanks, Ed). What an embarassment of riches!
