Every year when I was young, one of the networks would show a movie that children everywhere waited patiently to watch. They even dreamed of it. I was not one of them. There was another movie on a different channel that would air every June. That was the movie I waited patiently to watch. That I dreamed of. That movie was The Graduate. I was obsessed with its timeless tale of generational division and sexual awakening, and I still am. Unforgettable characters, great writing, precision editing and a much deserved Oscar awarded to a director who proved that all the special effects in the world cannot top a gifted eye behind the camera. I am proud to call this my favorite film.
