AFI placed this at the bottom 100???? This achievement garnered, I believe, 11 Oscars, unprecedented in motion picture history at the time. Why is Ben Hur at the very bottom of your anniversary list???

ADDENDUM: Where is De Mille’s Ten Commandments on this list? Why would you include a movie like Intolerable, which I bet most people have never heard of, and pass by The Ten Commandments? You had ten long years to compile this list and I’m tremendously disappointed in it.

I’m really sorry to see “Ben Hur” has been down graded to #100. This truly great film has it all, a great plot, superb camera work, and most importantly characters about whom the audience really cares about. The chariot race is one of the greatest action sequences ever filmed, and anyone who can’t shed a tear of joy when Ben Hur is reunited with his mother and sister must be a really hard hearted person.

I hope that the reason for this downgrade is not due to the fact that Charlton Heston stared in the film. His long term relationship with Nation Rifle Association should have nothing to due with where this film is rated. To me Ben Hur should among the top 20 films of all time. It is certainly ranks with other epics like “Lawrence of Arabia” and it is head a shoulders above the other films that are at bottom of the list.

“Ben Hur” is not as good as “Toy Story?” Give me a break!
