BACK TO THE FUTURE

It’s the epitome of the fun, popcorn adventure movie; every shot, every line, every delivery, every music cue, and on and on and on– it’s the perfect template for the genre and films in general.

For one thing, I never owned it on video until its 2002 DVD release, so I could only watch it on television, and I only saw parts of it because I was too young to have long-term control over the remote (not to mention it was usually the basic cable edit, which is like ordering a burger at a steakhouse), so when I finally did watch it as a whole from start to finish, I had every scene analyzed and committed to memory. And it still rocked.
