A perfect ensemble cast with the best dialogue in movie history.
Nothing comes close to Bogart as Rick, the self-sacrificing hero who redeems himself by getting back “into the fight”. Claude Rains is a perfect foil as Renault, the charming cynic.

There are two moments in the movie where the hairs on the back of my neck still stand up regardless of the number of times I see it:
The singing of the Marseillaise - the little nod to the band, Yvonne (who was played by an actual refugee) crying. Stirring stuff. How can you not be touched by it….

The scene where Rick lets the young Bulgarian couple win at the roulette table. It breaks my heart when he tells her that “no-one ever loved me that much”.
Whenever I pass a roulette table, I always put a small amount on number 22 as homage. If I ever win I’m going to leave it there

I LIKE THE OLDER MOVIES ANS MUSIC BECAUSE,, NO DRUGS, NO CURSING, JUST PLAIN OLD FANCY FUN. I MEAN ENJOYABLE. MAYBE I’M TOO OLD TO KEEP UP WITH THESE YOUNGER PEOPLE THESE DAYS. BUT I BELIEVE PEOPLE YEARS AGO HAD MORE FUN IN THEIR LIVES.BEING A BANJO PLAYER THE OLDER MUSIC SUITS ME JUST FINE. MORE OF A HAPPIER SOUND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. JOHN.

I saw this movie one time on TV when I was a little kid, probably about 8 years old, and it just always stuck with me since then. I tried desperately to find it again to no avail for a long time. I used to scour the TV guides looking for it and it finally came on one night very late, at some time past midnight on the USA channel, but I fell asleep before it came on and so missed it and I was so angry at myself about that. Then when I was in highschool I finally found it in a catalog at a video store that I used to work at and I ordered it on VHS with my own money. I was so happy when I finally got to watch it again after nearly 10 years had gone by of searching for it. Now I own the DVD and it’s one of the very few movies that I can watch over and over and OVER again and never really get tired of it. It’s my #1 favorite movie of all time. The reason why is hard to explain. There’s just something about that truck, like it has a personality of its own which is very creepy and the story is so realistic. And Dennis Weaver did such a great job as the protagonist, he was very convincing as a real person to me. I also love the scenery in the movie and the way it was shot on location.

Best Actors, Amazing!

It’s basically the perfect movie.

Without question the funniest movie ever made - Jack Lemmon and Joe E Lewis dancing the tango is true genius.

This is one of my favorite films and a good 50 years ahead of its time! Watching this movie about a working mother that spoils her daughter to the point the daughter becomes a monster could easily have been written today, not in the 1940’s. This is Joan Crawford at her best, and completely deserved her Oscar for this movie.

Although it may be very lacking in plot and climax, STATE FAIR is comforting in all of its simple songs by Rodgers and Hammerstein, the small pieces of comedy put in, such as alcohol-spiced mincemeat and revenge against a ripoff, and the fact that all four heroines recieve a well-lit happy ending. It’s no doubt a “feel-good” movie, with not too many problems, so as to make life seem a little easier to everyone who sees it.

The Rings Triology is a great story, with fantastic characters, acting and special effects. Rarely does a 3 hour movie seem too short; however, it happened 3 times with the “Rings”

Like renowned director M. Night Shyamalan puts it, The Godfather is perfect. It gets the point across and portrays it’s message in such a clear and realistic sense. The Godfather is my all time favorite because it is so well-done and accomplished. Al Pacino and Marlon Brando are perfect actors in the film. My favorite scenes from any movie is in this one, where Michael (Pacino) is eating with Sollazzo and the cop and he has to get the gun and kill the two. My heart was pounding. The other is at the end while he’s baptizing his nephew and at the same time has his men out gunning down the heads of the top families, those who pose any threat to the future of his business and his own family.

Goodfellas is the greatest t movie of all time hands down. All of the actors did a great job.The story was awesome. I am a huge fam of Martin Scorsese. I am 13 and i gave seen alot of his movies.

1 Mean Streets 8 Kundun
2 Taxi Driver 9 Gangs of New York
3 Raging Bull 10 The Aviator
4 After Hours 11 The Departed
5 Goodfellas 12 Bringing Out the Dead
6 Cape Fear 13 The Age of Innocence
7 Casino 14 The Color of Money

12 Angry Men is (in my opinion) the best movie ever made. One of my friends told me what a great movie it was, so I checked it out. The character development just blew me away. Even the short appearance of the hispanic guy in the beginning was in depth. Each character was realistic, different from each other, and greatly portrayed. Again, blew me away. I absolutely love this movie.

One of my top 10! Did you know that just made a pc game based on the movie?

plenty of believable action

I have seen a lot of movies around this world from the classic movies until now and still my favorite movies is this Francis Ford Coppola’
s masterpiece. In my opinion, this movie is different than other gangster movies which shows some cruelty, crime, blood, etc. Godfather is like a movie who can teach us about what is the real “wise man” looks like. It shows us how to be a real man, what are the consequences for a traitor, etc. Also this movie would not be successful without all talented actors especially for Marlon Brando…YOU HAVE A VERY BIG CHARISMA WHILE YOU ACT!

It just all pulled together so wonderfully. The humor was so on target and you could realate to all the charactors. All the actors did a fabulous job with their roles and I loved the scenes of New York and the vingettes of the old couples telling how they met. It gave you hope that there is still a chance for happy relationships that will stand the test of time and the shifts of age.

Meg Ryan and her organism scene is a true classic.

Shows how everyone is affected in a family from a family member using drugs or alcohol.

I love this film, which was adapted from a play, about a little girl who is sweet as honey and pretty and devious and murderous. Made in 1956, this thriller was one of the first serious introductions of psychology into American films and it explores many “what ifs”. It stared a cute little girl, Patty McCormack as Rhoda Penmark. I highly recommend this classic. Check it out on IMDB.

just an amazing film that had my attention all the way through. An excellent cast and I’m surprised that no one else has picked this movie. I feel its highly underrated film with the young Hartnett at his best.

This is not going to be a popular opinion, but I think Breakfast at Tiffany’s CRIES for a remake. The movie may be a true classic but it doesn’t do justice to Capote’s original story, which only takes an hour to read, and it’s NOT a romance. It’s gritty and a perfect rendition of New York just after WWII, not the 60’s. READ IT! You’ll see. Let the 1961 version live grandly in history and make the story again with the characters true to Capote - not the fluff version that got made. We’re ready now.

If you are a true SCI-FI fan, than this is for you. This is the BEST Sci-fi moving ever made. Ridley Scott is a master of the genre, and when it comes to the cast… well he could not have done better. The careers of all have been a testiment to that.

You have a first rate book turned into a great movie with great actors/actresses, first class acting, great sets, unforgettable score, great costumes. Everything about this movie is great. Every time I see it I still wonder how Scarlet fall for a man like Ashley and let a hunk like Rett Butler escape. How I wish I had been in her place. This movie was made such a long time ago and as yet there has never been a film made that could touch it.

Romance and intrigue… classic love triangle plot line… shot in a great shadows and light style… great actors… great lines and scenes abound. Set against a backdrop of war and dispair. Simply the best. By the way, how was this not the number 1 Romantic Comedy in the most recent Top 10 of 10?

In the EPIC movies , I couldn’t beleive that you didn’t have ” Doctor Zhivago ” in the top ten . In my opinion it should have been there over ” Reds” .

Performances (cast), scenery, script/story, but probably mostly Merle Streep.

This movie was important to all so that we dont make the same mistakes twice. It was done in such a grand scale for that time that it is truly a masterpiece.

Jack and Diane capture love from a different point of view, and show the middle aged story. As soon as they hit the screen together, there is chemistry.
The music moves the story along, and is a character in itself.
The movie shows us that there can be love at a later time in life, and it is just as important as the first time, because it is the first time for Jack’s character to be in love.

Not best epic of all-time? Please………………

IT IS SO FUNNY AND ROMANTIC! ISABELLA ROSELLINNI AND TED DANSON HAVE INCREDIBLE CHEMISTRY. LLOYD BRIDGES’ CHARACTER IS HILARIOUS–ACTUALLY THE ENTIRE MOVIE IS PERFECTLY CAST. EVERYONE WITH AN EXTENDED FAMILY CAN RELATE TO THIS FILM AND/OR ONE OF THE CHARACTERS!

this movie has so much power and great acting
